Top 10 highest paid men’s tennis players in 2021

The 2021 tennis season is coming to an end. Here is the list of the top 10 highest paid men’s singles tennis players for 2021. Please note this list does not include endorsements. It only includes the money players earned through ATP tournaments. (Source: www.protennislive.com).

10) Jannik Sinner–Italy– $2,159,934

The 20-year-old Italian phenom had a record of 49 wins and 22 losses this year. His best grand slam result was reaching the fourth round of the French Open and U.S. Open. He also won four ATP Tournaments, most notably the Washington Open, where he beat Mackenzie McDonald of the United States in the final, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.

9) Hubert Hurkacz–Poland–$2,173,247

The 24-year-old from Wroclaw had a record of 36 wins and 23 losses this year. He made headlines in July when he reached the semifinals of Wimbledon by beating the great Roger Federer of Switzerland, 6-3, 7-6, 6-0. Hurkacz won three tournaments in 2021, most notably the Miami Open, where he beat Sinner, 7-6, 6-4.

8) Casper Ruud–Norway–$2,230,592

The 22-year-old from Oslo is the greatest Norwegian tennis player all-time. In 2020, Ruud became the first Norwegian player to win an ATP tournament when he won the Argentina Open, and in 2021, won five more titles by posting a record of 57 wins and 17 losses. He also reached the semifinals of the ATP Finals in Turin.

7) Cameron Norrie–Great Britain–$2,518,782

In the fall, Norrie delivered with a title victory in Indian Wells, when he defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. The native of South Africa who has also represented New Zealand in the past, had a record of 52 wins and 25 losses in 2021, and also won the Los Cabos Open in Mexico this past July, where he beat Brandon Nakashima of the United States in the final, 6-2, 6-2.

6) Andrey Rublev–Russia–$3,131,467

In 2021, the 24-year-old from Moscow had a record of 53 wins and 23 losses. He reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open before being beaten by his countryman, Daniil Medvedev of Russia, 7-5, 6-3, 6-2. In March, Rublev won his eighth ATP event of his career when he defeated Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, 7-6, 6-4 in the final of the Rotterdam Open in the Netherlands.

5) Matteo Berrettini–Italy–$3,201,126

The 25-year-old from Rome reached his first grand slam final in 2021 where he lost to Novak Djokovic of Serbia, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 at Wimbledon. In posting a record of 41 wins and 12 losses,  Berrettini won two tournaments in 2021. In April, he beat Aslan Karatsev of Russia, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 in the final of the Serbia Open. Then at the Queen’s Club Championship prior to Wimbledon, Berrettini won the biggest title of his career, with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 win over Norrie.

 4) Stefanos Tsitsipas–Greece–$3,503,608

Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is known as the Greek Freak. However, Stefanos Tsitsipas has lately been known in the tennis world as the Greek God. In 2021, Tsitsipas had a record of 55 wins and 19 losses. Like Berrettini, he reached his first ATP Final of his career, but lost to Djokovic. In the final of the French Open, Djokovic beat Tsitsipas 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Tsitsipas also won the final of the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters, where he beat Rublev, 6-3, 6-3, and the final of the Lyon Open in France, where he beat Norrie, 6-3, 6-3.

3) Alexander Zverev–Germany–$6,361,173

In 2021, Zverev reached the semifinals of the French Open and U.S. Open, and quarterfinals of the Australian Open. The native of Hamburg had a record of 59 wins and 15 losses in 2021. He also won the Mexican Open, Madrid Open, Cincinnati Masters, Vienna Open, and ATP Finals.

2) Daniil Medvedev–Russia–$7,466,284

The second-ranked player in the world won his first grand slam championship of his career in 2021. He defeated the great Novak Djokovic of Serbia, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets in the final of the 2021 U.S. Open. Medvedev posted a record this year of 63 wins and 13 losses, and also won the Open 13 tournament in Marseille, the Mallorca Open, and the 2021 National Bank Open in Toronto, where he beat American giant Reilly Opelka, 6-4, 6-3.

1) Novak Djokovic–Serbia–$9,069,225

It is not a surprise at all that Novak Djokovic won over $9 million this year after winning three of the four majors, and reaching the final of the other. What might be a surprise is that Djokovic did not reach the $10 million mark in winnings in 2021. In addition to winning the Australian Open, the French Open and Wimbledon, he won the Belgrade Open in his home country of Serbia, and the Paris Masters. At the end of the year, Djokovic posted a record of 55 wins and seven losses.
