2025 New England Patriots Projected Finish, Key Signings & Fantasy Stars

In the 22nd of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the New England Patriots.

Key Off-Season Acquisitions

The Patriots were very busy in the offseason, as they acquired six new players via free agency. They were defensive lineman Milton Williams of Crowley, Texas (four years, $104 million), wide receiver Stefon Diggs of Gaithersburg, Maryland (three years, $63.5 million), cornerback Carlton Davis of Miami, Florida (three years, $54 million), outside linebacker Harold Landry of Spring Lake, North Carolina (three years, $43.5 million), linebacker Robert Spillane of Oak Park, Illinois (three years, $33 million), and right tackle Morgan Moses of Richmond, Virginia (three years, $24 million).

Williams has spent the last four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and won a Super Bowl in 2025. This past season, Williams had 24 combined tackles (11 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, 10 quarterback hits, one pass deflection, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

The pass deflection, forced fumble and fumble recovery all came in Eagles wins. The fumble recovery was in a 34-6 Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys on November 10. The forced fumble was in a 37-20 Eagles win over the Los Angeles Rams on November 24. The pass deflection came in a 27-13 Eagles win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 15.

The Patriots are the fourth National Football League team Diggs has played for. He has previously played five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings (2015 to 2019), four seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2020 to 2023), and one season with the Houston Texans (2024).

This past season, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He only played eight games because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Davis spent six seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (winning a Super Bowl in 2021) from 2018 to 2023, and this past season with the Detroit Lions. In 13 games in 2024, Davis had 56 combined tackles (42 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), two tackles or a loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries for 49 yards.

The first tackle for a loss came in a 20-13 Lions win over the Arizona Cardinals on September 22, and the second tackle for a loss came in a 42-29 Lions win over the Seattle Seahawks on September 30. The first fumble recovery was for 49 yards and came in the aforementioned Lions win over the Seahawks, and the second fumble recovery came in a 52-14 Lions win over the Tennessee Titans on October 27. The two interceptions came in a 26-23 Lions win over the Houston Texans on November 10, and the forced fumble came in a 34-31 Lions win over the Green Bay Packers on December 5.

Landry is joining his second NFL franchise as he has been with the Tennessee Titans since 2018. In 2021, he was selected to the Pro Bowl. This past season, Landry had 71 combined tackles (42 solo tackles and 29 assisted tackles), 15 tackles for a loss, 15 quarterback hits, one safety, four pass deflections and nine sacks. The safety came in a 32-27 Titans win over the Houston Texans on November 24.

Spillane is joining his fourth NFL team as he was previously with the Tennessee Titans in 2018, the Pittsburgh Steelers for four seasons from 2019 to 2022, and the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 and 2024. This past season with the Raiders, Spillane had 158 combined tackles (91 solo tackles and 67 assisted tackles), 10 tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, two interceptions, seven pass deflections and two sacks.

Moses is joining his fourth NFL team. He was previously with Washington from 2014 to 2020, the New York Jets in 2021 and 2024, and the Baltimore Orioles in 2022 and 2023.

The Patriots are bringing back former linebacker Mike Vrabel as their head coach. Vrabel spent eight seasons with the Patriots from 2001 to 2008, and won three Super Bowls in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Vrabel previously coached the Titans from 2018 to 2023.

Fantasy Stars

The Patriots do not have anyone ranked in the top 10 in any position in fantasy football.

Projected Finish

The Patriots are a long way from their glory years with Tom Brady at the helm. The Patriots will finish in the basement in the AFC East.
