Nine more NFL players to switch teams in 2025 free agency

National Football League free agency officially started on Wednesday. Here are nine more players who switched teams.

Davante Adams

The six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver from Redwood City, California has signed a two-year deal worth $44 million with the Los Angeles Rams. Adams is joining his fourth NFL franchise after eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers (2014 to 2021), three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders (2022 to 2024), and one season with the New York Jets (2024). This past season with the Raiders and Jets, Adams had 85 catches for 1063 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Maliek Collins

The defensive lineman from Kansas City, Kansas has signed a two-year deal worth $20 million with the Cleveland Browns. Collins is joining his fifth NFL franchise after four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2016 to 2019), one season with the Las Vegas Raiders (2020), three seasons with the Houston Texans (2021 to 2023), and one season with the San Francisco 49ers (2024). This past season in northern California, Collins had 33 combined tackles (20 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles), 12 quarterback hits, five sacks, five tackles for a loss and two fumble recoveries. The fumble recoveries came in a 32-19 49ers win over the New York Jets on September 9, and in a 30-13 49ers win over the New England Patriots on September 29.

Evan Engram

The tight end from Powder Springs, Georgia has signed a two-year deal worth $23 million with the Denver Broncos. Engram is joining his third NFL team, as he was with the New York Giants from 2017 to 2021, and the Jacksonville Jaguars the last three seasons since 2022. The two-time Pro Bowler (2020 with the Giants and 2023 with the Jaguars) had 47 catches for 365 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2024.

Javon Hargrave

The defensive tackle from Salisbury, North Carolina has signed a two-year deal worth $30 million with the Minnesota Vikings. Hargrave is joining his fourth NFL franchise, as he was previously with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2016 to 2019), the Philadelphia Eagles (2020 to 2022), and the San Francisco 49ers (2023 and 2024). A two-time Pro Bowler (2021 with Philadelphia and 2023 with San Francisco), Hargrave only played three games in 2024 because he tore his tricep. He had seven combined tackles (four solo tackles and three assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, one sack and one quarterback hit.

Daniel Jones

The quarterback from Charlotte, North Carolina has signed a one-year deal worth $14 million. Over the last six seasons, Jones quarterbacked the New York Giants. In 2024, he completed 216 passes in 341 attempts for 2070 passing yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Jones also had 67 rushes for 265 rushing yards and two touchdown runs.

Dre’Mont Jones

The defensive end from Cleveland, Ohio has signed a one-year deal worth $10 million with the Tennessee Titans. He is joining his third NFL team after four seasons with the Denver Broncos (2019 to 2022), and two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks (2023 and 2024). This past season in the Pacific northwest region of the United States, Jones had 28 combined tackles (14 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), 13 quarterback hits, seven tackles for a loss, four sacks, one safety, one pass deflection and one forced fumble. The forced fumble came in a 24-3 Seahawks win over the Miami Dolphins on September 22, and the pass deflection came in a 34-14 Seahawks win over the Atlanta Falcons on October 20.

Harold Landry

The outside linebacker from Spring Lake, North Carolina signed a three-year deal worth $43.5 million with the New England Patriots. Landry is joining his second NFL franchise as he has been with the Tennessee Titans since 2018. In 2021, he was selected to the Pro Bowl. This past season, Landry had 71 combined tackles (42 solo tackles and 29 assisted tackles), 15 tackles for a loss, 15 quarterback hits, one safety, four pass deflections and nine sacks. The safety came in a 32-27 Titans win over the Houston Texans on November 24.

DeMarcus Lawrence

The defensive end from Aiken, South Carolina signed a three-year deal worth $42 million with the Seattle Seahawks. Lawrence is joining his second NFL franchise as he has been with the Dallas Cowboys since 2014. The four-time Pro Bowler only played four games with the Cowboys in 2024 because of a foot injury. He had 14 combined tackles (seven solo tackles and seven assisted tackles), five quarterback hits, four tackles for a loss, three sacks and one forced fumble. The forced fumble came in a 33-17 Cowboys win over the Cleveland Browns on September 8.

Dalvin Tomlinson

The defensive tackle from McDonough, Georgia signed a two-year deal worth $29 million with the Arizona Cardinals. Tomlinson is joining his fourth NFL franchise as he was previously with the New York Giants from 2017 to 2020, the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 and 2022, and the Cleveland Browns in 2023 and 2024. This past season with the Browns, Tomlinson had 26 combined tackles (13 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles), six tackles for a loss, 18 quarterback hits, and three sacks.
