According to FOX Sports on Thursday, Las Vegas will host the 2029 Super Bowl. The game will take place at Allegiant Stadium, which is the host stadium of the Las Vegas Raiders.
This will be the second time that the Super Bowl will have taken place in Las Vegas. Allegiant Stadium hosted the 2024 Super Bowl. Two years ago the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22. In Super Bowl LVIII, the most valuable player was quarterback Patrick Mahomes of Tyler, Texas. Mahomes completed 34 of 46 passes for 333 passing yards, with two passing touchdowns, along with nine rushes for 66 rushing yards. Mahomes had a 16 yard touchdown pass to Marquez Valdes-Scanting of St. Petersburg, Florida and a game-winning three-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Harman of Bowman, Georgia in overtime.
In addition to hosting two Super Bowls, Allegiant Stadium has hosted two Pro Bowls in the past. The Pro Bowls happened in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, the American Football Conference defeated the National Football Conference 41-35. The Defensive Most Valuable Player had a Las Vegas connection as it was Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby of Lapeer, Michigan. Crosby had five tackles, three pass deflections and two sacks.
In the 2023 Pro Bowl, the National Football Conference beat the American Football Conference 35-33. This was not an actual football game, but a flag football game. During the 2023 Pro Bowl contest, it was another Pro Bowl defensive end who made headlines. That is because Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns dislocated his toe. The native of Arlington, Texas set the NFL record for most sacks in a season (23) in 2025.
