Three golfers who could win the 2026 Phoenix Open
February 5, 2026
Scottie Scheffler (X)
The PGA Tour moves from California to Arizona thus week with the 2026 Phoenix Open. This tournament is very unique because the final round happens annually on the same day as The Super Bowl.Â
Scottie Scheffler
Do you remember what my rule for Scottie Scheffler this year is? If he is participating, and it is not struggling whatsoever in any fashion, he will be one my three options. In Scheffler’s first stop of the year in 2026, he won the American Express Championship. Scheffler has won the Phoenix Open twice in his career. In fact, he won in back-to-back years. The first time came in 2022 when he beat Patrick Cantlay in a playoff for his first career PGA Tour title. The second came in 2023 when he shot -19, beat Canada’s Nick Taylor, and moved to number one in the world.
Hideki Matsuyama
The 2021 Masters champion has had two top 15 results on the PGA Tour this season. He was 13th in Honolulu and 11th in San Diego. The world number 14 is also a two-time winner in Phoenix. His titles came in 2016 and 2017. Both titles came in a playoff, as he beat Americans Rickie Fowler and Webb Simpson respectively.
Si Woo Kim
The native of Seoul, South Korea has had a great start to the season throughout his career. Half of Kim’s PGA Tour victories have come in January as he won the 2021 American Express Championship and 2023 Sony Open. Kim is coming off a second place finish last week at the Farmers Insurance Open.
