According to Ryan Ballengee of The Golf News Net, women’s golf star Lexi Thompson of Coral Springs, Florida recently got married to surgical salesman Max Provost. Thompson and Provost were married on March 7 at La Casa Toscana in southwest Florida after getting engaged on New Year’s Day, 2025, in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Whistler is known for hosting many of the skiing and sliding events at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Thompson is a major champion. She won the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, California. There she posted a winning score of -14 and beat Michelle Wie of Honolulu, Hawaii by three strokes.
Provost has not been prominent in the golf spotlight over the years. However, he did caddie for Thompson at the 2024 Hero World Challenge Pro-Am in the Bahamas.
Now the question will be how much golf Thompson will play this season. In 2024, there were reports that Thompson was set to retire at the end of the golf season. The news was shocking because Thompson was only 29 years old and competing at a real high level at the time. Then when Thompson returned to professional golf in 2025 on a scaled-back schedule, she made the public statement according to Jonny Leighfield of Golf Monthly.
“I feel like once I made the announcement (that Thompson was having a scaled back schedule), I feel it got misconstrued that I was retiring. But I never said that word. I just said I was stepping back from a full-time schedule.”
The Chevron Championship is the first major on the LPGA calendar in 2026. It will take place April 23-26 in Houston, Texas.
