After two rounds of the 2025 Women’s PGA Championship from Fields Ranch East near Dallas, Texas, world number two Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand was the leader at -6. On Saturday, the world’s best female golfers had to battle high winds. As a result, Thitikul struggled mightily and lost the lead.
The new leader is a two-time major champion–Australia’s own Minjee Lee. The 29-year-old from Perth has previously won the 2021 Evian Championship and 2022 United States Open. Now Lee is in the driver’s seat to win her third different major in the last five years.
On Saturday, Lee posted a score of three-under-par 69. It is Lee who is at -6 now, and has a four stroke lead over Thitikul. In the third round, Lee had three birdies and zero bogeys. She birdied the ninth, 14th, and 15th holes.
This was the second round in the tournament that Lee had a score of three-under-par. In the first round, Lee had seven birdies and four bogeys. Lee birdied the third, fifth, seventh, ninth, 10th, 14th, and 15th holes, and bogeyed the first, 12th, 16th, and 18th holes.
Then in the second round on Friday, Lee had a score of even par. She had three birdies and three bogeys. Lee birdied the second, third, and eighth holes, and bogeyed the sixth, 11th, and 18th holes.
The shot of the day came on the fourth hole as Brianna Do of Long Beach, California made a hole in one from 150 yards. Do finished round three at five over par, and 11 strokes back of Lee.
