Five highest paid cornerbacks in NFL free agency

It is a very interesting time of year for the National Football League. Even though there are no games, free agency is now in full swing. Here are the five richest cornerbacks who have switched teams.

Alontae Taylor

The native of Winchester, Tennessee signed a three-year deal worth $60 million with the Tennessee Titans. Taylor played the last four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. In 2025, Taylor had 83 combined tackles (59 solo tackles and 24 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, two interceptions for 21 yards and 11 pass deflections. The first interception was for 11 yards came in a 17-7 Saints win over the Carolina Panthers on November 9, and the second interception was for 10 yards and came in a 24-20 Saints win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 7.

Jaylen Watson

The native of Augusta, Georgia signed a three-year deal worth $51 million with the Los Angeles Rams. Watson played the last four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and won the Super Bowl with them in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, Watson had 64 combined tackles (42 solo tackles and 22 assisted tackles), three tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, two interceptions for 14 yards, six pass deflections and two sacks.

Cor’Dale Flott

The native of Saraland, Alabama signed a there-year deal worth $45 million with the Tennessee Titans. Flott played the last four seasons with the New York Giants. In 2025 he had 38 combined tackles (27 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles), three tackles for a loss, one interception for 68 yards, one forced fumble, and 11 pass deflections. The interception came in a 34-17 Giants win over the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9.

Jamel Dean

The native of Cocoa, Florida signed a three-year deal worth $36.75 million with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dean played the last seven seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl in 2021. In 2025, Dean had 46 combined tackles (38 solo tackles and eight assisted tackles), two quarterback hits, one tackle for a loss, three interceptions for 74 yards, one pick six, nine pass deflections, two forced fumbles and one sack.

The pick six was for 55 yards and came in a 29-27 Buccaneers win over the New York Jets on September 21. The sack, first quarterback hit, first forced fumble, and tackle for a loss came in a 30-19 Buccaneers win over the San Francisco 49ers on October 12. The second quarterback hit and second forced fumble, came in a 23-3 Buccaneers win over the New Orleans Saints on October 26.

Greg Newsome

The native of Chicago, Illinois signed a one year deal worth $10 million with the New York Giants. Newsome is joining his third NFL team following four full seasons with the Cleveland Browns, and sharing his time last year with the Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2025, Newsome had 52 combined tackles (41 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, one interception, and nine pass deflections. The interception came in a 36-19 Jaguars win over the Indianapolis Colts on December 7.
