Collin Morikawa of Los Angeles, California is a winner on the PGA Tour for the eighth time. On Sunday, Morikawa won an event in his home state of California, as he was victorious at the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Morikawa posted a score of -22. He beat Australia’s Min Woo Lee and Austria’s Sepp Straka by a stroke. Lee and Straka were tied for second place at -21. Other players in contention were Scottie Scheffler of Ridgewood, New Jersey (our favourite) at -20, England’s Tommy Fleetwood at -20, and Americans Sam Burns and Ashkay Bhatia at -19.
Over the tournament, Morikawa had a first round score of three-under-par 69, a second round score of four-under-par 68, a third round score of ten-under-par 62, and a fourth round score of five-under-par 67. In the third round of the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Morikawa had 11 birdies and one bogey. In the final round on Sunday, Morikawa birdied three of the final four holes.
This was the second PGA title for Morikawa in the state of California. He previously won the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. This will forever be remembered as the first PGA tournament to take place after the Coronavirus pandemic. Morikawa’s signature shot in the tournament came on the 16th shot in the final round, where he was able to record an eagle.
With the win, Morikawa went from 19th to fifth in the world. In the past, he has been as high as number two. There was also significant Morikawa news after winning on Sunday. That is because he announced he was going to be a father as his wife Katherine is pregnant.
