Three golfers who could win the 2026 PGA Championship
May 14, 2026
Scottie Scheffler (X)
The 2026 PGA Championship is set to begin on Thursday from Aronimink Golf Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This will be the third major ever hosted by Aronimink. It first hosted the 1962 PGA Championship, which was won by South African legend Gary Player. It then hosted the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship. which was won by South Korean Sei-young Kim. Here are the three golfers we like the most to win the second major of the year.
Scottie Scheffler
The world number one is the defending champion of the PGA Championship, as he won last year in Quail Hollow. Even though Scheffler is a four-time major champion, and world number one, he should not be considered as dominant of a favourite as he has been the last few PGA Tour events. That is because Scheffler has only won once on the PGA Tour in 2026. That came at the American Express Championship in January. The reason why Scheffler is still my pick to win the PGA Championship is because he is in the hunt regularly. He has six top four finishes in 2026.
Matt Fitzpatrick
The world number four from Sheffield, England is red hot at the moment. He has won three times since the end of March. His victories came at the Valspar Championship, the RBC Heritage and the Zurich of New Orleans. Fitzpatrick also finished second at the Players Championship.
Cameron Young
Speaking of the Players Championship, and being red hot, it was at Sawgrass that the world number three from Scarborough, New York beat Fitzpatrick by a stroke. Since then, Young clobbered the field at the Cadillac Championship. He beat his nearest opponent (Scheffler) by six strokes.
