The Minnesota Vikings have named Nolan Teasley of Federal Way, Washington as their new general manager according to FOX on Monday. Teasley takes over from Kwesi Adofo-Mensah of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, who was fired on January 30.
Teasley has spent the last 13 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He was initially their pro scout for three seasons from 2014 to 2016. Teasley was then their assistant director of pro personnel in 2017, their director of pro personnel for five seasons from 2018 to 2022, and then their assistant general manager for three seasons from 2023 to 2025.
While with the Seahawks, Teasley helped Seattle win two Super Bowls. The first came in 2014 when the Seahawks clobbered the Denver Broncos 43-8 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (home venue for the New York Giants and the New York Jets) in Super Bowl XLVIII, and the second came in 2026 when the Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California (home venue of the San Francisco 49ers) in Super Bowl LX.
In an ironic twist, the Vikings hired a general manager from the Seattle organization. Remember, the Seahawks signed former Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold on March 10, 2025 to a three-year contract worth $100.5 million. Darnold had a brilliant 2024 National Football League season, as he guided the Vikings to an impressive regular season record of 14 wins and three losses, but Minnesota decided to go with the inexperienced J.J. McCarthy at quarterback in 2025 instead. When the Vikings missed the playoffs completely with a record of nine wins and eight losses, the decision was made to fire Adofo-Mensah.
