The San Antonio Spurs are in the 2026 NBA Finals. On Saturday night at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 to win the best out of seven Western Conference finals four games to three.
Seven Spurs players reached double digits in scoring. Center Victor Wembanyama, the NBA defensive player of the year and former first overall pick from Lae Chesnay, France, led San Antonio with 22 points. Meanwhile, small forward Julian Champagnie of Brooklyn, New York had 20 points, guard Stephon Castle of Covington, Georgia had 16 points, point guard De’Aaron Fox of New Orleans, Louisiana had 15 points, shooting guard Dylan Harper of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey had 12 points, and shooting guard Devin Vassell of Lawrenceville, Georgia and small forward Keldon Johnson of Chesterfield, Virginia had 11 points each. Johnson and Harper reached double digits coming off the bench.
The Spurs outscored the Thunder 32-25 after the first quarter, and went on a 7-2 run in the final 77 seconds of the first half. In the second half, the third quarter was even as San Antonio and Oklahoma City scored 24 points each before the Spurs outscored the Thunder 31-26 in the fourth quarter.
San Antonio will now play the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals. The Knicks beat the Spurs 124-113 in the only exhibition game during the regular season–the NBA Cup. The Knicks enter the NBA Finals, will great momentum, as they have won 11 straight postseason games.
