In the 23rd of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the New Orleans Saints.

Key Off Season Acquisitions

There are five new notable New Orleans Saints this season. They are offensive lineman David Edwards of Downers Grove, Illinois, running back Travis Etienne of Jennings, Louisiana, linebacker Kaden Ellis of Salt Lake City, Utah, defensive end Tyree Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska, and running back Zamir White of Laurinburg, North Carolina. The three new Saints with the last name starting with E came to New Orleans via free agency. The two new Saints with the last name starting with W came to New Orleans via trade.

Edwards signed a four-year contract worth $61 million on March 11. He is joining his third NFL team after four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2019 to 2022) and three seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2023 to 2025). With the Rams in 2022, Edwards won a Super Bowl.

Etienne signed a four-year contract worth $52 million on March 13. He played the last four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2025, Etienne had 260 rushes for 1107 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, along with 36 catches for 292 receiving yards and six touchdown catches.

Ellis signed a three-year deal worth $33 million on March 11. He is returning to the Saints after playing four seasons with them from 2019 to 2022. Over the last three seasons, Elliss has played with the Atlanta Falcons. He had 107 combined tackles (59 solo tackles and 48 assisted tackles), 10 tackles for a loss, 10 quarterback hits, one interception for 16 yards, one forced fumble, 3.5 sacks and six pass deflections in 2025. The forced fumble came in a 24-14 Falcons win over the Buffalo Bills on October 13.

Wilson was traded from the the Las Vegas Raiders to the New Orleans Saints on April 25. The Saints also received a seventh round pick in 2026, while the Raiders received a fifth round pick in 2026. Wilson has spent the last three seasons with the Raiders. In 2025, he had 35 combined tackles (25 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles), eight tackles for a loss, six quarterback hits, one safety, one pass deflection, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four sacks. The fumble recovery came in a 20-10 Raiders win over the Tennessee Titans on October 12, and the safety and two forced fumbles came in a 14-12 Raiders win over the Kansas City Chiefs on January 4.

White was traded from the San Francisco 49ers to the New Orleans Saints on August 23. In return, the 49ers received linebacker Deion Jones of New Orleans, Louisiana. White played the last four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2025, he had 12 rushes for 32 rushing yards and four catches for 24 receiving yards.

Fantasy Stars

There are no players ranked in the top 10 in any fantasy football position.

Projected Finish

The Saints are definitely in a period of transition. The positive news is that they are in the NFC South, which could be considered the weakest division in the NFL. I am projecting a fourth place finish for the Saints inside their division.
