In the 30th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Key Off Season Acquisition

With the retirement of Tom Brady of San Mateo, California, the Buccaneers have a new quarterback. They have come to terms with Baker Mayfield of Austin, Texas to a one-year deal worth $4 million. Last season with the Panthers and Rams, Mayfield completed 201 passes in 335 attempts, with 10 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. He had 31 rushes for 89 yards and one touchdown. The Buccaneers are the fourth team Mayfield has played for following the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Stars

The Buccaneers have no players ranked in the top 10 at any fantasy position.

Projected Finish

Without Brady at the helm, the Buccaneers are not expected to contend for a division title in the NFC South. Yes, Tampa Bay gets younger at quarterback. Mayfield is only 28 years old, while Brady is 46 years of age. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There is a reason why Brady is considered the greatest of all-time and that is because of his remarkable longevity and greatness for three separate decades.

The Buccaneers are in a weak division, and they could contend for a division title late in the season. However, the Saints, Panthers and Falcons have changed their teams too, and in many NFL’s experts opinion, for the better. Tampa Bay was 8-9 last year, and could go first to worst.
