We are now one third into the 2021 National Football League regular season. Here are the five best offensive rookies from winning teams in week six.
5) Pat Freiermuth–Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh’s rookie tight end from Penn State had the best game of his NFL career on Sunday night. He had career-highs in catches (seven), and receiving yards (58) in a 23-20 Steelers overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks. With a win, the Steelers improved to three wins and three losses.
4) Ja’Marr Chase–Cincinnati Bengals
The rookie wideout from LSU has emerged as a WR1 in fantasy football after only his sixth game of his NFL career. On Sunday, Chase had four catches for 97 yards as the Bengals trounced the Detroit Lions 34-11. Chase now has 27 catches for 553 yards and five touchdowns. He leads all rookies this season in catches and receiving yards.
3) Chris Evans–Cincinnati Bengals
The Indianapolis native from the University of Michigan got some playing time backing up Joe Mixon for the Bengals at running back on Sunday and made the most of his opportunities. He had three catches for 49 yards and one touchdown along with four carries for 18 yards. It is unlikely that Evans will return to the backup role next week. Evans was seeing time due to the fact Samaje Perine was out due to coronavirus. With the win, the Bengals improved to a record of four wins and two losses.
2) Trevor Lawrence–Jacksonville Jaguars
The number one pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Clemson picked up the first victory of his NFL career on Sunday from England. Lawrence completed 25 of 41 passes for 319 yards and one touchdown as the Jaguars defeated the Miami Dolphins 23-20. It was Jacksonville’s first win since the first week of the 2020 NFL season and the first NFL win for Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer.
1) Najee Harris–Pittsburgh Steelers
For the second straight week, Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers is number one on our rookie list. Â On Sunday, Harris had 24 carries for 81 yards and six catches for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers win over the Seahawks. On the season, Harris now has 102 rushes for 388 yards and two touchdowns along with 34 catches for 244 yards and two more majors.
