Randwick’s biggest day of the year headlined by the G1 Everest and G1 King Charles final comes around this Saturday. Our analyst has is keen to back a proven miler in the King Charles and has looked for value in the Everest with a Waller mare that gets big map upside on her two Everest lead up runs.
View our best selection and value play below.
Best Selection: R9- Mr Brightside
Mr Brightside is racing well coming off his 1.5L G1 Makybe Diva win albeit where he was given complete control on top of a slow tempo. Completely different race shape here but he maps to take up his preferred settling position 1 pair back from Jenni. His 1600m stats speak for themself at 23:13-5-1 and is 3: 2-1-0 over the Randwick mile. I’m not too concerned about the outside gate as Williams has 600m to find a position before the first turn and Jenni should string them out up front, which will open up a position.
Value Selection: R7- Lady Shenandoah
Lady Shenandoah was a total forgive jumping from Gate 10 around the Valley last start. She had no luck caught up all over heels from Gate 1 1st up in the Concorde. When she saw clear running the final 100m she jumped out of the ground to just miss by 0.1L. She gets big map upside on both those runs and looks ready to peak on grand final day at a great price.
