October 31, 2025

The Golden Eagle takes place at Randwick for the first time this year. Our analyst has run his eye over the entire meeting and has picked out a Freedman/Godolphin4yo that gets big map upside and a $35 each way chance for those looking for value in the feature.Â

Best Selection: R10- Polyglot
Polyglot looks a nice play to end the day. He has two 3rds over the Rosehill 1100m in 2 runs this prep but had excuses on both occasions. He got back too far from a wide gate 1st up and flashed home to finish 2.2L away from Monte Supreme. He was then caught 3-wide with no cover midfield from a wide gate and was good enough to battle on for 1.9L 3rd to the classy Roselyn’s Star. He gets big map upside jumping from Gate 2 and will be very hard to beat if he runs out a strong 1300m.
Value Selection: R8- Fully Lit
It’s nearly impossible to legitimately be against Autumn Glow in the Golden Eagle but Fully Lit is a nice smoky at EW odds. He was a game 1.4L 2nd to Autumn Glow after leading in the Epsom. He meets her 6kg worse at the weights, which makes it a difficult sell. I was taken by his latest tick over Randwick trial where he sat midfield before working his way around the field to be widest on the turn and eventually ran away for a nice 1.6L win.
