Our three best tips for the 2024 Memorial
June 6, 2024

This weekend is a very special time on the golf calendar. That is because the Memorial Tournament takes place at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. The course and tournament is synonymous with Jack Nicklaus, the all-time leader in major wins with 18. Nicklaus designed the course which opened in 1974, and has been part of the PGA Tour since 1976. Nicklaus was victorious there in 1977 and 1984. Here are the the three golfers we like the most at the 2024 Memorial.Â
Scottie Scheffler
World number one Scottie Scheffler of Ridgewood, New Jersey has already won four times on the PGA Tour in 2024. His wins came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida, The Players Championship outside of Jacksonville, Florida, the Masters in Augusta. Georgia, and the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Only one golfer has won the Memorial and Arnold Palmer Invitational in the same year, and that was Tiger Woods of Cypress, California. He accomplished the feat four times (2000, 2001, 2009 and 2012).

Even though he is 66th in the world, Billy Horschel of Grant, Florida is a past champion, as he won in 2022 by shooting a score of -13, and beating Aaron Wise of Las Vegas, Nevada by four strokes. Horschel also is a winner in 2024, as he won the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic in April.
