NFL: Who are the early favourites for Super Bowl LX?
October 28, 2025
The championship game is heading back to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, for the first time since 2016, when the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
The NFL regular season is only six weeks in, but oddsmakers and fans alike are already speculating on who could be hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February, given the early clues on offer.
With excitement building—and bookmakers offering early markets and competitive NFL odds ahead of the rest of the regular season—let’s take a look at some of the franchises tipped to go all the way to San Francisco.
Buffalo Bills – 6/1
The Buffalo Bills remain one of the NFL’s perennial powerhouses, but the wait for a first-ever Lombardi Trophy continues to frustrate their passionate fanbase.
With reigning MVP Josh Allen once again leading the charge, the Bills look capable of challenging at the top end of the AFC — yet inconsistency still threatens to hold them back.
Sitting at 4-2 after six weeks, a 24-12 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons served as a reminder that even the best sides can’t afford off days.
Upcoming clashes with the Patriots (4-2), Steelers, Chiefs, and defending champions Eagles will reveal whether this team truly has championship credentials.
They have the talent, the experience, and the motivation — but Bills fans have heard that before. Could this finally be the season they get over the line?
Kansas City Chiefs – 6/1
Having missed out on a historic three-peat, the Kansas City Chiefs are a team with something to prove.
Andy Reid’s men have found the early part of this season to be a test of resilience, opening with back-to-back defeats to the Chargers and Eagles before finding rhythm in victories over the Giants and Ravens.
Another slip against the Jaguars reminded everyone that even dynasties need rebuilding phases, but a 30-17 win over the Lions has steadied the ship once more.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce remain the heartbeat of this side, and with a relatively manageable run-in — including fixtures against the Raiders, Titans, and Texans — the Chiefs should have every opportunity to mount another deep playoff run.
Consistency is key, and if they rediscover their ruthless edge, Kansas City will again be the team to beat.
Green Bay Packers – 13/2
Leading the NFC North with a 3-1-1 record, the Green Bay Packers are quietly emerging as serious Super Bowl contenders.
They started the season strongly, notching wins over the Lions and Commanders, before being edged out by the Browns in a 13-10 defensive battle and sharing a thrilling 40-40 draw with the Cowboys.
A composed 27-18 victory over the Bengals showcased their balance on both sides of the ball, and the sense of belief around Lambeau Field is growing.
With Jordan Love settling into his role more with every passing season, and the defence performing at a high level, the Packers have the blend of youth, discipline, and experience to make a real push for their first title since 2011.
Detroit Lions – 15/2
Once seen as outsiders, the Detroit Lions have transformed into genuine contenders under Dan Campbell’s leadership.
After losing to the Packers on opening weekend, they responded in emphatic fashion with four straight wins — including statement victories over the Bears (52-21), Ravens (38-30), and Bengals (37-24).
Their winning streak ended in a fiery 30-17 defeat to the Chiefs, a game that exposed some defensive vulnerabilities but also showed the Lions’ fighting spirit.
With an explosive offence and a growing sense of belief, Detroit look destined for postseason football.
Whether their inexperienced squad can handle the pressure of knockout games remains to be seen, but they’ve proven that they can mix it with the league’s best — and they’re no longer a team anyone takes lightly.
