With the National Football League free agency just around the corner, there is a lot of speculation at this time that we could see eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill of Douglas, Georgia return to where he was a National Football League superstar first–the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hill is now a free agent after he was released by the Miami Dolphins on Monday after a tumultuous 2025 National Football League season to say the least. Hill only played four games  this past season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered in late September against the New York Jets.

Hill’s 2025 statistic line had 21 catches for 265 receiving yards and one touchdown. Despite ending his time with the Dolphins on a sour note, Hill’s first two seasons with the Dolphins were fantastic, and he was clearly one of the most electrifying receivers in the entire NFL. In 2023, Hill led the NFL in receiving yards (1799), touchdown catches (13), receiving yards per game (112.4) and scrimmage yards per touch (14.5).

In Hill’s time with the Chiefs, he was able to develop strong chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs won a Super Bowl in 2020 as a result. Hill was traded from the Chiefs to the Dolphins for five draft picks in 2022 and 2023.

One could argue that the Chiefs need a spark to their lineup after shockingly missing the playoffs this past season. The question is at age 32, how will Hill’s knee respond after a serious injury. Where Hill will go will be mighty interesting when free agency takes place.
