New York Jets: Predicted Finish, Key Signings & Fantasy Stars

In the 25th of a 32-part series, we will feature all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Today we will look at the New York Jets.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
On offense, the Jets’ most significant acquisition came on tight end when they signed C.J. Uzomah to a three-year contract worth $24 million. Last year the native of Suwanee, Georgia had 49 catches for 493 yards and five touchdowns with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Jets also made significant moves to their offensive line. They signed left tackle Duane Brown to a two-year contract worth $22 million from the Seattle Seahawks, and offensive guard Laken Tomlinson to a three-year contract worth $41.2 million from the San Francisco 49ers.
New York also will be projected to start two of their draft picks in a starting role on offense. First round pick Garrett Wilson is expected to start at wide receiver after being a 10th overall pick out of Ohio State, and second round pick Breece Hall is expected to start at running back after being a 22nd overall pick out of Iowa State.
On defense, the Jets signed cornerback D.J. Reed from the Seahawks to a three-year deal worth $33 million. Last year he had 78 tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions for nine yards, and 10 pass deflections. New York also signed safety Jordan Whitehead to a two-year contract worth $14.5 million from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2021, Whitehead had 73 tackles, five tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, two interceptions for 24 yards, eight pass deflections and one forced fumble. The Jets will also be projected to start first round picks Jermaine Johnson, a defensive end out of Florida State, and cornerback Sauce Gardner, a cornerback out of the University of Cincinnati.

There are no players ranked in the top 10 in any fantasy position.
Projected Finish
The Jets will finish last in the AFC East. They will also be hard pressed to improve on their four wins from last year.
