Ja’Marr Chase sets Bengals franchise record for most catches in a game
October 18, 2025

There is no doubt things have been a little tough in Cincinnati this season since the Bengals lost Joe Burrow for an extended period of time with a toe injury. Things then did not work out with Jake Browning, as the franchise lost all three games this season with him at the helm. The Bengals then went out and made a trade with their AFC North Division rival, the Cleveland Browns. In the process, the Bengals acquired quarterback Joe Flacco, who coincidentally, won a Super Bowl with another AFC North franchise, the Baltimore Ravens, in the past.
A week ago at Lambeau, the Bengals lost their first game with Flacco at quarterback as they were beaten 27-18 by the Green Bay Packers. In the process, we saw definite chemistry between Flacco and the Bengals’s star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of Harvey, Louisiana. Chase had 10 catches for 94 receiving yards and a touchdown. It seemed to set the scene for what was soon to come.
On Thursday night at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium, we saw excellence from Chase, who was absolutely brilliant. We all know the chemistry that Chase has built with Burrow over the years (led the NFL last year in receptions with 127, receiving yards with 1708 and touchdown catches with 17), and to begin week seven, Chase set the Bengals franchise record for most receptions in a game with 16 in a 33-31 Cincinnati win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chase actually had the old record as he had 15 catches in a 34-20 Bengals win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 8, 2023.
In 2025, Chase leads the NFL with 58 catches. He also has 629 receiving yards and five touchdown catches with three quarterbacks who have been throwing him the pigskin. With the win, the Bengals improved to a record of three wins and four losses.
