The Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Von Miller of Dallas, Texas on Monday. The terms of the deal are for one year and $5.5 million according to Ian Rapoport of ESPN.
Miller is joining his fifth National Football League franchise. He previously played a decade with the Denver Broncos from 2011 to 2021, one season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, three seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2022 to 2024, and one season with the Washington Commanders in 2025. Miller is reportedly thrilled to be coming to play professional football in his hometown.
This past season, Miller played in 17 games for the Commanders. He had 26 combined tackles (16 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles), six tackles foe a loss, 15 quarterback hits, and nine sacks. What was most impressive from Miller’s stat line were the nine sacks, considering the fact that Miller only started three games for the Commanders in 2025.
Miller is best remembered for his time with the Broncos. In his first nine NFL seasons, he was selected to the Pro Bowl for eight seasons. Miller also was the Super Bowl 50 Most Valuable Player. On February 7, 2016 in a 24-10 Broncos win over the Carolina Panthers, Miller had 6 combined tackles (five solo tackles and one assisted tackle), 2.5 sacks, two quarterback hits, and one pass deflection. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton simply could not get anything going as he had 23 incompletions.
Then in Miller’s only season with the Rams, he won a Super Bowl again. This time it was Super Bowl LVI as the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium. Miller had two sacks, one pass deflection, two solo tackles, three quarterback hits, and two tackles for a loss.
