CATCH ANNAVISTO IF YOU CAN IN THE MEMISE Annavisto

TOP trainer Mick Price has issued a warning to all comers but one in particular in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400 metres) at Caulfield and that is if you take his mare Annavisto on for the lead you will bring about your undoing.

Price said Annavisto from barrier one with Damian Lane on board would use her speed to lead.

PlayUp has Annavisto as a $12 chance.

Foremost in his thoughts though was another front runner Alligator Blood and his jockey Tim Clark with their tactics.

Price, speaking on RSN, said if they decided to take Annavisto on for the lead in the early stages, they would be ruining each other’s chances.

“If they eyeball one another then they will have no chance. From barrier one we will go straight to the front. Hopefully Tim Clark on Alligator Blood will pop in behind us,” Price said.

“Her work on Tuesday was special. She will be in front with 200 metres to go and we will see what happens from there.”

Annavisto has won four from six first-up. At her last campaign she won the Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes at Flemington running a fast time of 1.21.59 min for the 1400 metres.

Price also has Amenable ($26 PlayUp) in the race and hopes to gain a mid-field spot and run on well.

Price nominated Mr Brightside, who is $2.80 favourite with PlayUp, as the horse to beat saying he would be suited by the fast speed and he had the advantage of having had one run back from a spell.
