Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney have completed a Deadline Day pick swap, AFL.com.au’s updated draft order shows, with the Lions sending picks 20 and 59 to the Giants in exchange for picks 25 and 28.
The deal was lodged on Wednesday afternoon as clubs raced toward the 7:30pm AEDT trade deadline. Zero Hanger reported at about 3pm that AFL Media had confirmed the clubs had traded the picks, and AFL.com.au’s live Trade Talk coverage flagged another pick swap as done.
The official AFL.com.au draft order, updated on Wednesday 14 October, now lists pick 20 and pick 59 with Greater Western Sydney (both marked as received from Brisbane in the pick swap), while picks 25 and 28 sit with Brisbane (both marked as received from GWS in the same swap).
ABC News’ Deadline Day live blog said the Lions were putting the swap through to help match an early bid for Academy prospect Caylen Murray at this year’s national draft.

After the swap, Brisbane’s 2026 draft hand on the AFL site includes picks 25, 28, 42, 53, 79 and 97. Greater Western Sydney holds picks 9, 20, 26, 59, 77 and 86.
The move comes a day after GWS sent star defender Lachie Whitfield to Carlton in a five-pick deal, reshaping both clubs’ mid-round stocks heading into Thursday and Friday’s national draft.
