The final tournament of the FedEx Cup Playoffs are taking place this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. Here are the three golfers we like the most. A reminder we will see the existing format of stroke play at the 2026 and 2027 Tour Championship, before a change to match play starting in 2028.
Scottie Scheffler
The world number one from Ridgewood, New Jersey is looking for his second FedExCup playoff tournament win in 2026 after winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis two weeks ago. A reminder that the PGA Tour abandoned the starting stroke format in 2025, which no longer gives Scheffler an advantage when the tournament starts. Scheffler is still the betting favourite at +350. He previously won the 2024 Tour Championship title in Atlanta.
Tommy Fleetwood
The world number seven from Southport, England won his first and only PGA title last year when he won the 2025 Tour Championship. According to ESPN, Fleetwood became the first golfer ever to have the Tour Championship as his first ever PGA Tour career title. At East Lake a year ago, Fleetwood posted a winning score of -18 and beat Americans Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay by three strokes each.
Patrick Cantlay
The world number 26 from Long Beach, California has had unbelievable success in the FedEx Cup events over his career. He has won three FedEx Cup events in his career (2021 BMW Championship, 2021 Tour Championship and 2022 BMW Championship), and finished second to Wyndham Clark at the 2026 BMW Championship.
