Canterbury Race 3 – Triffacia
- Trainer: J Cummings
- Jockey: T Clark
- Barrier: 10
Triffacia stands out with superior form lines in this 3yo maiden. The Godolphin filly returns from a break after finishing within 3 lengths of Swift Witness in the G2 Silver Shadow at Randwick in the spring. She looked great cruising to the line in a recent trial at Hawkesbury.
The downside is the gate 10 and a speed her lack of gate speed which may require her to settle at the rear at Canterbury over 1100m. The gamble is whether Clark can get her away clean enough to settle close enough to be in it.
Tip: 2 Units Win Triffacia @$4.2 with TopSport
Canterbury Race 4 – Fine Point
- Trainer: C Waller
- Jockey: J McDonald
- Barrier: 8
Fine point was impressive winning a maiden at Kensington last start. The pins filly showed early gate speed and was still explosive through the line over 1400m. I like the step up to 1550m with J Mac sticking. Looks tough to beat.
Tip: 2 Units Win Fine Point @$2.6
