Boasting a record of 6:4-1-1 in a career that begun in France, it’s interesting to note that his only two defeats came on synthetic tracks in France. In his only Australian start he won a 2000m race at Randwick before being sent to spell. Gai has primed him with a recent trial win and I am happy to take the short odds.

Newcastle Race 4 – St Covet’s Spirit
The $10 on offer on Friday is a treat and I expect this horse will start half that quote. Last preparation the 4yo mare finished 2nd to Dawn Passage and beat home Icebath in the Hawkesbury Guineas. Both those horses would be starting odds on in this race.
The start before that she finished a length 3rd to boom filly Rubisaki. First up today over 1200m is the main concern but the big Newcastle track will be to her advantage and she looks a great bet.

Newcastle Race 7 – Sweet Deal
Sweet Deal represents good value in a wide-open running of the 2nd Hunter Quality. She was good last start leading them up and finishing 1.9L 4th behind Positive Peace in The Nivision (G3).
She will appreciate being back on a dry track here and may benefit from taking a sit. Nash Rawiller sticks with her which is a great sign.
