RACING: Warwick Farm Best Selection & Value Play 1/4

Warwick Farm hosts a tricky midweek Sydney meeting on Wednesday. Our analyst likes a Quinton sprinter bringing great track/distance stats and a Smith gelding at massive odds as the value play.

View our best selection and value play below.

Best Selection: R5- Rantan

Rantan ticks a few boxes bringing an impressive 3: 2-0-1 Warwick Farm 1000m record and getting in well at the weights after Fitzgerald’s claim. He had excuses failing 1st up in Midway company before running a solid 1.7L 3rd over this track distance last start. Wondereach looks his main danger as they both stand out with their 1000m form but the 6kg weight difference has to be respected.

Value Selection: R5- Silencio Porfavor

The Matthew Smith gelding opened at $41 and has trimmed up into $27 but still looks over the odds. He looked promising recording consecutive wins in his first two career starts, including an impressive 3L win at Scone before seemingly returning for his 2nd prep with something amiss. He looks to be working back to what he is capable of on the back of 3 runs this prep. He was an unlucky 1.6L 3rd at Gosford last start. Gate 12 makes things tricky for McEvoy but it’s worth the risk at the price.
