In the 27th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
The Steelers acquired three notable players in free agency. They were guard Isaac Seumalo of Honolulu, Hawaii, linebacker Cole Holcomb of New Smyma Beach, Florida, and cornerback Patrick Peterson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Seumalo signed a three-year deal worth $24 million after seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Holcomb signed a three-year deal worth $18 million after four seasons with Washington. Peterson signed a two-year deal worth $14 million after 10 seasons with Arizona and two seasons with Minnesota.
Seumalo was part of the Eagles team that won the Super Bowl in 2018. The Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33. Holcomb had 69 combined tackles (37 solo tackles and 32 assisted tackles), one quarterback hit, one tackle for a loss, and one pass deflection for the Commanders in 2022. Peterson last season had 66 combined tackles (56 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles), three tackles for a loss, five interceptions for 91 yards and 15 pass deflections. In eight straight seasons from 2011 to 2018, Peterson was selected to the Pro Bowl while with the Cardinals. In 2012, Peterson led the NFL with five fumble recoveries.
Pittsburgh also acquired wide receiver Allen Robinson II of Detroit, Michigan in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. Each team got a seventh round pick in the deal. Robinson played 10 games with the Rams in 2022. He had 33 catches for 339 yards and one touchdown. Robinson’s touchdown came in a 24-10 Rams win over the Carolina Panthers on October 16. The Steelers are the fourth team Robinson II has played for following four seasons each with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears and one season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Stars
The Steelers do not have any player ranked in the top 10 in any fantasy position.
Projected Finish
The Steelers have the least talent at quarterback in the AFC North and it is not even remotely close. That is why Pittsburgh will finish last.
