It is now time to take a look at the top fantasy player at every fantasy position from week 5. We are featuring one quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, one tight end and one kicker.
Quarterback–C.J. Stroud
We have already documented how awful the Ravens were last week. One of the reasons why Baltimore was awful was because Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud of Rancho Cucamonga, California looked great. In the 44-10 Texans romp over the Baltimore Ravens, Stroud completed 23 of 27 passes for 244 passing yards and four touchdowns, along with one rush for 30 rushing yards.
Wide Receiver–Emeka Egbuka
The second best rookie of the week (only behind running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt of the Washington Commanders), Egbuka had seven catches for 163 yards and one touchdown in a 38-35 Tampa Bay win over the Seattle Seahawks. It will be interesting to see how Egbuka performs with the return of Mike Evans.
Running Back–Rico Dowdle
With Canadian Chuba Hubbard out with a calf injury, the Carolina Panthers went to running back Rico Dowdle, who looked spectacular on Sunday in a 27-24 Panthers win over the Miami Dolphins. Dowdle had 23 carries for 206 rushing yards and one touchdown and three catches for 28 receiving yards.
Tight End–AJ Barner
The Seattle Seahawks second year tight end from Aurora, Ohio had seven catches for 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns. It was not enough as the Seahawks lost to Tampa by a field goal.
Kicker–Ka’imi Fairbairn
The Houston Texans veteran kicker from Kailua, Hawaii, made three field goals and five converts in Houston’s win over Baltimore. Two of the field goals were 50 yards or more.
