Three Australians on International Team at 2024 Presidents Cup

The field is set for the 2024 Presidents Cup at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada which starts September 26. On the team of 12 captained by Canadian Mike Weir of Sarnia, Ontario are three Australians–2013 Masters champion Adam Scott of Adelaide, 2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day of Beaudesert, and Min Woo Lee of Perth.
Scott is currently the highest ranked Australian in the world at number 18. Day is 33rd and Lee is 42nd. Scott and Day were automatically chosen as two of the top six players from the Official World Golf Rankings. Lee, meanwhile, was one of Weir’s six captain picks. The other nine players on the International Team are 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama of Japan, Sung-jae Im of South Korea, Tom Kim of South Korea, Byeong-hun An of South Korea, Taylor Pendrith of Canada, Corey Conners of Canada, Mackenzie Hughes of Canada, Christiaan Bezuidenhout of South Africa, Si-woo Kim of South Korea. This is the first time three Canadians are on the international team.
Meanwhile, on Team USA, there are six major champions. They are Scottie Scheffler (2022 and 2024 Masters), Xander Schauffele (2024 PGA Championship and 2024 British Open), Collin Morikawa (2020 PGA Championship and 2021 British Open), Brian Harman (2023 British Open), Wyndham Clark (2023 United States Open), and Keegan Bradley (2011 PGA Championship). The other six are Patrick Cantlay, Sahith Theegala, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Russell Henley and Max Homa.
This is the second time that the Presidents Cup has taken place in Canada. The first time was in 2007, with Montreal being the host there as well.
