The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 19/6

A Waller mare that closed off with some nice sectionals and looks ready to win 3rd up is the horse to follow from Rosehill on Saturday. Click below to read more.

The Plunge’s Service Results:
  • +24.1 units of profit since December
  • 62 bets: 15 wins /16 placings

A disappointing result for those who followed into Tycoonist on Saturday. He shot clear at the top of the straight and was soon in a ding dong battle with Papal Warrior only to go down by 0.3L defeating the 3rd horse by 3L. Disappointing to see jockey James McDonald ride the horse 0.5kg over the handicapped weight which no doubt played a part in the finish.

Irish Angel – Rosehill

  • Race 5
  • Distance 1100m
  • Class: BM 72 3 & 4yo

Irish Angel was forced to settle at the rear from a wide gate but worked her way into the race nicely by the home turn and produced a great run up the straight to finish 2nd before Magic Ruler.

When To Bet

She looks ready to step up to 1200m 3rd up where she has a great record. There should be a nice BM72-78 over 1200m in the coming weeks.

Promise of Success- Warwick Farm

  • Race: 1
  • Distance: 1200m
  • Class: Maiden

Promise of success was heavily backed in her Australian debut despite only finding a placing once out of 5 European runs. She showed she had settled in well to Australian life with a trial win and then franked the interest with a dominant 2L victory eased down on Monday. Hugh Bowman was frank with his post race assessment when he stated that she was way too good for midweek company.

When To Bet

This mare looks likely to progress towards black type races. To do that she must step up to Saturday grade where I think she will do great. Keep a look out for her over the next couple of Saturdays.
