Mudgee R3 4. Whirled War

Want to speck this gelding here at big odds. He made big improvement last start off his debut run finishing 2nd 0.2L at Bathurst and absolutely relished the wet track. He ran a slow L4-200 but then absolutely flew home in the L200m. Overall time was pretty good and with good speed in front should get his chance.

Resumes here from a lengthy spell for the new stable. 2 solid lead up trials to suggest he’s come back well. Has the class edge over this field – figures from QLD are very impressive for this. Handles the wet. Drawn well but does generally get back. Good speed increases his chances. Attractive at this price.

Sole leader here and should get his way in front. Comes off a 2nd in town over 1550m at Canterbury. He ran good time on the soft track. Prior to that 6th in the Four Pillars (same weight) – led and held on gamely for 6th 2.8L. Fourth-up here with the fitness on his side. Good jockey booking.
