Ten NFL players traded on Tuesday

The National Football League regular season gets underway one week from now as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Detroit Lions. Teams have been very busy with various transactions over the last three days. Let’s take a look at 10 players who were traded on Tuesday.
Carlos Basham
The native of Roanoke, Virginia was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the New York Giants with a seventh round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for a seventh round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In 2022, Basham, a defensive end, had 19 combined tackles (10 solo tackles and nine assisted tackles), five quarterback hits, one tackle for a loss, two sacks, one interception for 21 yards, two pass deflections, and one fumble recovery for one yard.
Nicknamed Boogie, Basham has spent the last two seasons with the Bills. In 2022, Basham’s interception came in a 31-10 Bills win over the Los Angeles Rams on September 8. Basham’s fumble recovery also came in a Bills win–a 41-7 Buffalo win over Tennessee on September 19.
Neil Farrell
The native of Mobile, Alabama was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. As a rookie defensive tackle in 2022, Farrell had 12 combined tackles (nine assisted tackles and three solo tackles), two quarterback hits and one tackle for a loss in 2022 with the Raiders.
Dan Feeney
The native of Orland Park. Illinois was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Chicago Bears for a sixth round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Feeney, an offensive lineman, signed with the Dolphins to a one-year deal worth $3.25 million, but never played a game for Miami. He played four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017 to 2020, and the last two seasons with the New York Jets. Feeney has one career fumble recovery. It came in a 30-10 Chargers win over the Miami Dolphins on September 29, 2019.
Nick Folk
The native of Los Angeles, California was traded from the New England Patriots to the Tennessee Titans for a seventh round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The veteran kicker is joining his fifth NFL team after playing three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2007 to 2009), seven seasons with the New York Jets (2010 to 2016), one season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017), and four seasons with the New England Patriots (2019 to 2022). This past season, Folk made 32 of 37 field goals and 32 of 35 converts. In his rookie season with the Cowboys in 2007, Folk was selected to the Pro Bowl. That year he made 26 of 31 field goals and all 53 converts.
Kendrick Green
The native of Peoria, Illinois was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Houston Texans for a sixth round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In 15 games a rookie center in 2021, Green had one solo tackle. He did not play the 2022 NFL season because he was a backup to guard Kevin Dotson of West Point, Mississippi. Ironically, the Steelers traded Dotson to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday.
Noah Igbinoghene
The native of Trussville, Alabama was traded from the Dolphins to the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday for Kelvin Joseph. A cornerback, Igbinoghene played nine games for the Dolphins in 2022 and had 10 combined tackles (eight solo tackles and two assisted tackles), three pass deflections and one interception. The interception came in a 16-10 Dolphins win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 23. In all, Igbinoghene played three seasons with Miami.
Kelvin Joseph
The native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Dolphins for Noah Igbinoghene on Tuesday. Joseph spent the last two seasons with the Cowboys. In 2022, he had 20 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and three assisted tackles), two pass deflections and one forced fumble. The pass deflections came in two Cowboys wins. The first came in a 54-19 Cowboys win over the Indianapolis Colts on December 4, and the second came in a 27-23 Cowboys win over the Houston Texans on December 11.
Wil Lutz
The native of Newnan, Georgia was traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday for a seventh round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Lutz, a kicker, has spent the last six seasons with the Saints. In 2017, he led the NFL with 47 converts. In 2019, Lutz was selected to the Pro Bowl. He made 32 of 36 field goals and 48 of 49 converts. In 2022, Lutz made 23 of 31 field goals and 33 of 33 converts.
Albert Okwuegbunam
The native of Springfield, Illinois was traded from the Denver Broncos with a seventh round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles for a sixth round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Tuesday. Both draft picks are conditional. Okwuegbunam, a tight end, had 10 catches for 95 yards and one touchdown in 2022. He played the last three seasons with the Broncos.
Ihmir Smith-Marsette
The native of Newark, New Jersey was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs with a seventh round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers for a seventh round pick in 2025. In 2022, Smith-Marsette shared his time with Chicago Bears and Chiefs. In 2022, he had one catch for 15 yards, and won a Super Bowl with Kansas City. In Smith-Marsette’s rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, he had five catches for 116 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. The touchdown catches came in a 17-9 Vikings win over the Chicago Bears on December 20, 2021 and in a 31-17 Vikings win over the Bears on January 9, 2022. Smith-Marsette’s first touchdown catch was for seven yards and his second touchdown catch was for 44 yards.
