Six NFL wide receivers who switched teams in free agency

On Wednesday, the first day of National Football League free agency, six wide receivers changed teams. Let’s take a look at who went where.

John Brown–The 30-year-old from Homestead, Florida, signed a one-year contract worth $3.75 million with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders will become the fourth team for Brown, as he has also played four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, one season with the Baltimore Ravens, and two seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Last season in Buffalo, Brown had 33 catches for 458 yards and three touchdowns.

Corey Davis–The 26-year-old from Chicago, Illinois signed a three-year contract worth $37 million with the New York Jets. Davis has spent the last four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. In 2020, Davis had 65 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns.

A.J. Green–The 32-year-old from Summerville, South Carolina signed a one-year contract worth $8.5 million with the Arizona Cardinals. Green has spent the last nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in his first seven seasons. Last year, Green had 47 catches for 523 yards and two touchdowns. His best season came in 2013 when he had 98 catches for 1426 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Marvin Jones–The 31-year-old from Los Angeles, California signed a two-year contract worth $12.5 million with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is an exciting time for Jones as he is to be part of a Jags offense that is to be on the rise. Jones meanwhile had 76 catches for 978 yards and nine touchdowns in 2020 with the Detroit Lions. In 2017 with Detroit, Jones led the NFL with 18 yards per catch. Prior to his time in Detroit, which started in 2016, Jones played three seasons with the Bengals.

Emmanuel Sanders–The 34-year-old from Bellville, Texas signed a one-year contract worth $6 million with the Buffalo Bills. Last season with the New Orleans Saints, Sanders caught 61 passes for 726 yards and five touchdowns. He has previously played four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, five and a half seasons with the Denver Broncos, and half a season with the San Francisco 49ers. A two-time Pro Bowler, Sanders was selected to represent the Broncos in 2014 and 2016. For three straight seasons from 2014 to 2016, Sanders reached a minimum of 1000 yards, with a career-high 1404 yards in 2014. In 2016, Sanders won a Super Bowl with the Broncos.

Curtis Samuel–The 24-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, signed a three-year contract worth $34.5 million with the Washington Football Team. In Washington, he will be reunited with his former head coach in Carolina, Ron Rivera. In 2020 with the Carolina Panthers, Samuel had 77 catches for 851 yards and three touchdowns. Samuel was with the Panthers since 2017.
