Six more defensive ends who have switched teams in NFL Free Agency

In analyzing 13 NFL free agents who switched teams a week ago, there were five defensive ends. Now let us take a look at six more defensive ends who have signed elsewhere.
Chase Young
The native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland signed a one-year contract worth $13 million with the New Orleans Saints on Monday. This past season, Young shared his time with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. He had 25 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and eight assisted tackles), 15 quarterback hits, 7.5 sacks and two pass deflections. In 2020, Young was selected to the Pro Bowl and was the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year.Â
Yetur Gross-Matos
The native of Spotsylvania Courthouse, Virginia signed a two-year deal worth $18 million with the San Francisco 49ers on March 12. Gross-Matos played the last four seasons with the Carolina Panthers. In 2023, he had 36 combined tackles (19 solo tackles and 17 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, 10 quarterback hits, and 4.5 sacks.
A’Shawn Robinson
The native of Fort Worth, Texas signed a three-year deal worth $22.5 million with the Carolina Panthers on March 13. Robinson is joining his fourth NFL team after four seasons with the Detroit Lions (2016 to 2019), three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2020 to 2022), and one season with the New York Giants (2023). Robinson won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022. In 2023 with the Giants, Robinson had 62 combined tackles (34 solo tackles and 28 assisted tackles), six tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, and two pass deflections. The quarterback hit came in a 24-22 Giants win over the Green Bay Packers on December 11.
Bilal Nichols
The native of Newark, Delaware signed a three-year deal worth $21 million with the Arizona Cardinals on March 11. Nichols spent four seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021, and the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2023, Nichols had 48 combined tackles (25 solo tackles and 23 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, one pass deflection, one fumble recovery for eight yards and one touchdown, and one and a half sacks. The eight yard fumble recovery for a touchdown came in a 20-14 Raiders upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. One quarterback hit and half a sack came in a 21-17 Raiders win over the New England Patriots on October 15, and the other quarterback hit and one sack came in a 30-6 Raiders win over the New York Giants on November 5.
Marcus Davenport
The native of San Antonio, Texas signed a one-year deal worth $6.5 million with the Detroit Lions on March 11. He played five seasons with the New Orleans Saints from 2018 to 2022, and one season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2023. This past season, Davenport had seven combined tackles (four solo tackles and three solo tackles), two tackles for a loss, and two sacks. He missed most of the season with a high ankle sprain in 2023.
D.J. Wonnum Jr.
The native of Stone Mountain, Georgia signed a two year deal worth $12.5 million with the Panthers on March 14. He played the last four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2023, Wonnum Jr. had 62 combined tackles (33 solo tackles and 29 assisted), seven tackles for a loss, 15 quarterback hits, eight sacks, six pass deflections, and one fumble recovery for 51 yards and one touchdown which came in a 21-13 Vikings win over the Panthers on October 1.
