We now know who will be in the men’s semifinals and women’s semifinals at Wimbledon in 2026. On the men’s side, Jannik Sinner of Italy, the four-time major champion, will face Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the 24-time major champion.
This semifinal match has interest all over it. Not only does the match contain 28 grand slam singles titles between the two players, it also features possibly the greatest men’s singles tennis player of all-time against the best men’s singles tennis player right now. Sinner has won six of 11 meetings. However, Djokovic won their only meeting this year. That came in the semifinals of the Australian Open, which Djokovic won 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in another five-set thriller.
The other men’s semifinal matchup will have significant intrigue too. It will feature the French Open champion, Alexander Zverev of Germany, against the French-born, Wimbledon-raised unseeded British wildcard Arthur Fery. On Wednesday, Fery continued his star status by knocking out French Open finalist Flavio Cobolli of Italy from a major for the second time this year. After beating Cobolli in the first round of the Australian Open, 7-6, 6-4, 6-1, Fery beat Cobolli in the quarterfinals in straight sets again, 6-4, 7-6, 6-0. Fery, who is 114th in the world, has never played Zverev, who is seeded second at Wimbledon.
The women’s semifinals have American Coco Gauff, the seventh seed, against the 10th seed Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic, and Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic, the ninth seed, against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine, the 12th seed. Gauff won the 2023 United States Open and 2025 French Open. Muchova is the French Open finalist in 2023, and Kostyuk is the French Open semifinalist in 2026. This is the first grand slam singles semifinal for Noskova.
Gauff has won six of seven meetings head-to-head against Muchova. However, Muchova won the last meeting, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 in the semifinals of Stuttgart. Kostyuk beat Noskova in their only prior matchup, 7-6, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of Madrid this year.
