The Seattle Seahawks have signed cornerback Trevon Diggs of Gaithersburg, Maryland. The length of the contract is for one year according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, however, the financial terms of the contract have not been reported.
Diggs is joining his third national Football League franchise. He previously played five full seasons with the Dallas Cowboys from 2020 to 2024, before spending time in 2025 with the Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. Diggs only played one regular season game and one playoff game with the Packers after being put on waivers by the Cowboys on December 30.
In 2025, Diggs played nine regular season games overall, and had 27 combined tackles (20 solo tackles and seven assisted tackles), and one tackle for a loss. Then in the playoffs, Diggs had one assisted tackle, which came in a 31-27 Packers loss to the Chicago Bears on the opening day of the National Football League postseason.
Diggs’s most memorable NFL season came with the Cowboys in 2021. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time as he led the NFL in interceptions (11), yards from interceptions (142), and pick sixes (two). Diggs was selected to the Pro Bowl again in 2022.
The Seahawks were in need of improving their defense after losing three notable defenders from their team that won the Super Bowl in February. They were defensive end Boye Mafe of Golden Valley, Minnesota (signed three years, $60 million with the Cincinnati Bengals), safety Coby Bryant of Cleveland, Ohio (signed three years, $40 million with the Chicago Bears), and cornerback Tariq Woolen of Fort Worth, Texas (signed one year contract worth $12 million with the Philadelphia Eagles).
