Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 31/5
May 31, 2025

Sydney racing returns to Rosehill for the first meeting since April 1. Our analyst has found a progressive Baker filly that gets in well at the weights and a Ryan/Alexiou mare looking to go one better after an unlucky 1st up run at Randwick.
Best Selection: R5- Elipsis
Ellipsis’ last start 0.1L win at Canterbury rates well after the 2nd horse has gone on to win consecutive Midway wins at Kembla and Randwick. The query is that Elipsis has not raced since and will be 6 weeks between runs. She has had the benefit of an impressive 0.8L trial win at Warwick Farm. She gets a great run from Gate 1 and has been well supported in the market.
Value Selection: R10- Pajanti
I loved the return of Pajanti recording an unlucky 0.75L 2nd over 1200m at Randwick. She settled a long way back and was caught in a really awkward position smothered up between runners until the 200m. When a split came she rocketed home but all the way leader Memoria had already done enough by that stage. They ran 0.55 seconds quicker than the colts and geldings in the race prior, which indicates it is a race where the form should hold up from moving forward. The 5-weeks between runs is a concern but there is enough of a price there to entertain.
