Packers sign former Pro Bowl wide receiver Mecole Hardman
March 20, 2025

The Green Bay Packers have signed former Pro Bowl wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. of Bowman, Georgia on Tuesday according to Steve Megargee of the Toronto Star. The length of the contract is for one year and the financial terms have not been disclosed.
The Packers will be Hardman Jr.’s third National Football League franchise. He was with the Kansas City Chiefs on two separate stints. The first time from 2019 to 2022, and the last two seasons since 2023. Hardman also played five games with the New York Jets in 2023.
In 2024, Hardman had 12 catches for 90 receiving yards, and five rushes for 62 rushing yards and one touchdown for the Chiefs. Hardman’s touchdown run was for 18 yards and came in a 28-18 Chiefs win over the San Francisco 49ers on October 20.
Hardman was selected to the Pro Bowl in his rookie year of 2019 while with the Chiefs. That year, he had 26 catches for 538 receiving yards and six touchdowns, and another four rushes for 17 rushing yards.
It is easy to remember Hardman’s most memorable catch with the Chiefs. It came in Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024. Hardman had a three yard catch from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in overtime as the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22. Hardman was also on the Chiefs teams that won Super Bowls in 2020 and 2023.
The Chiefs are making changes to their roster after losing to the Eagles in the Super Bowl in February. Among the other players they have also lost are safety Justin Reid, who signed with the New Orleans Saints, and defensive tackle Tershawn Warton, who signed with the Carolina Panthers.
