Our three best tips of the 2024 Arnold Palmer Classic
March 7, 2024
One of the most notable golf tournaments of the season takes place this weekend with the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Bay Hill, Florida. This private golf course near Orlando, Florida was owned by Palmer starting in 1974 and the tournament has been under his name since 2007, and even after The King’s death in 2016. Here are the three golfers we like this week the most.
Rory McIlroy
McIlroy was the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational champion. There he shot a four round score of -18 and beat Bryson DeChambeau by three shots. McIlroy, a native of Holywood, Northern Ireland, was also the runner-up in 2023 as he shot a four-round score of -8, and only lost by one stroke to Kurt Kitayama of Chico, California. McIlroy is currently the second ranked player in the world and is only behind Scottie Scheffler.

He reached double figures in 2019 by shooting -10 before losing to another major champion, in Italy’s Francesco Molinari, the 2018 British Open champion, by two strokes. According to WCSC, Fitzpatrick has been under par in 14 of his last 17 rounds on the PGA Tour. Like McIlroy, Fitzpatrick is from Great Britain, as he hails from Sheffield, England.
