The 2026 National Football League regular season is just over a week away. In the last 48 hours, 18 players have been traded. Let’s take a look to see who has been on the move.
Gervon Dexter Sr.
A defensive lineman from Lake Wales, Florida, Dexter Sr. was traded from the Chicago Bears to the Atlanta Falcons for defensive back Clark Phillips III of Lakewood, California and a fifth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Dexter Sr. has played the last three seasons with the Bears. In 2025, Dexter Sr, had 44 combined tackles (21 solo tackles and 23 assisted tackles), six tackles for a loss, 11 quarterback hits, six sacks and two fumble recoveries. Both fumble recoveries came in Bears wins. The first was in a 26-14 Bears win over the New Orleans Saints on October 19 and the second was in a 47-42 Bears win over the Cincinnati Bengals on November 2.
TeRah Edwards
A defensive lineman from Groveport, Ohio, Edwards was traded from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Carolina Panthers for a sixth round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. Edwards was on the Chargers’s practice squad in 2025.
Quinn Ewers
A quarterback from San Antonio, Texas, Ewers was traded within the state of Florida from the Miami Dolphins to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth round pick in 2028. This past season in Miami, Ewers backed up southpaw Tua Tagovailoa. He completed 55 of 83 passes for 622 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, and had eight rushes for 19 rushing yards.
Kaleb Johnson
The Pittsburgh Steelers traded running back Kaleb Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio to the Green Bay Packers for a seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. The Packers were in need of a running back after Josh Jacobs was suspended. Jacobs was allegedly charged for a domestic abuse incident in May, and has been placed on the NFL Commissioner exempt list. In 2025 as a rookie, Johnson had 28 rushes for 69 yards and one catch for nine yards. The catch came in a 27-20 Steelers win over the Indianapolis Colts on November 2.
Broderick Jones
The Steelers traded offensive tackle Broderick Jones of Lithonia, Georgia to the Dallas Cowboys with a fourth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft for a third and sixth round pick in 2027. Jones has spent the last three seasons with the Steelers. In 2025, he had one fumble recovery for six yards in 11 games. The fumble recovery came in a 24-21 Steelers win over the Minnesota Vikings on September 28.
Corey Kiner
The running back from Cincinnati, Ohio was traded from the Arizona Cardinals to the New England Patriots for a seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. Kiner had 12 rushes for 58 yards and two catches for 15 yards in 2025.
Hunter Long
The tight end from Exeter, New Hampshire was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Arizona Cardinals with a seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft for a sixth round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. Long is joining his fourth NFL team after two seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2021 and 2022), two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2023 and 2024), and one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2025). In 2026, Long had 12 catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns. The first touchdown was for six yards and came in a 26-10 Jaguars win over the Carolina Panthers on September 7. The second touchdown was for four yards and came in a 26-21 Jaguars win over the San Francisco 49ers on September 28. Long was previously traded from the Dolphins to the Rams on March 12, 2023 in a deal involving cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Kyle McCord
The quarterback from Mount Laurel, New Jersey was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the Dolphins for a sixth round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. McCord is replacing Ewers as the Dolphins backup quarterback to the newly acquired Malik Willis, who ironically also came from Green Bay.
Jordan Meredith
The center from Bowling Green, Kentucky was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets with a seventh round pick in the 2029 NFL Draft for a conditional sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He has spent the last four seasons with the Raiders.
Basil Okoye
The defensive tackle from Benue, Nigeria was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the New York Giants for a seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2025 with the Ravens, Okoye had 15 combined tackles (seven solo tackles and eight assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hit, and one pass deflection. The tackle for a loss and pass deflection came in a 27-19 Ravens win over the Minnesota Vikings on November 9. Okoye reunites with former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh in the Big Apple.
Jarrett Patterson
The center from Laguna Hills, California was traded from the Houston Texans to the San Francisco 49ers for a seventh round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He spent the last three seasons with the Texans.
Clark Phillips III
The cornerback from Lakewood, California was traded from the Atlanta Falcons to the Chicago Bears with a fifth round pick in 2027 for Dexter. He spent the last three seasons with the Falcons. In 2025, Phillips played one game and had one solo tackle in a 34-27 Falcons win over the Washington Commanders on September 28. He missed the majority of the season because of a triceps injury.
Diego Pounds
The offensive tackle from Atlanta, Georgia was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. Pounds only signed with the Ravens on April 26.
Mark Redman
The Los Angeles Rams traded the tight end from Birmingham, Michigan to the Green Bay Packers for a seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. Redman was on the Rams’s practice squad last season.
Walter Rouse
The offensive tackle from Silver Spring, Maryland was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the New England Patriots with a seventh round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft for a sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Rouse spent the last two seasons with the Vikings.
Avery Smith
The defensive back from East Point, Georgia was traded from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Seattle Seahawks for the sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Smith never played for the Chargers as he only signed with them on April 25.
Nathan Thomas
The offensive tackle from New Orleans, Louisiana was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Houston Texans for seventh round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He played 17 games with the Cowboys in 2025.
Sedrick Van Pran-Granger
The offensive lineman from New Orleans was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Indianapolis Colts with a seventh round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft for a sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He played the last two seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
