Our three best tips for the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open
January 22, 2025
Ludvig Aberg (YouTube)
The PGA Tour starts a day earlier this week. That is because those in the golf community have made the intelligent decision not to go head-to-head with the National Football League with the conference championships on Sunday. So here we have the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California beginning on a Wednesday and ending on a Saturday. Here are the three golfers we like the most this week at Torrey Pines.
Ludvig Aberg
The world number six is the favourite this week. He has missed only two cuts since the beginning of last year. Aberg’s two poor results were at majors as he missed the cut at the 2024 British Open and 2024 PGA Championship. In that time, Aberg has had 10 top-10 finishes, highlighted by a second place at the 2024 Masters. Speaking of second place, two Swedish golfers have finished in second place at the Farmers Insurance Open over the last decade. Alex Noren was second to Australia’s Jason Day in 2018, and Henrik Norlander was second to American Patrick Reed in 2021.
