Our three best tips for the 2024 Sentry
January 4, 2024
The PGA Tour season for 2024 is starting on Thursday with The Sentry. It used to be called the Sentry Tournament of Champions, however not all the entrants in this tournament are champions. Those eligible to participate in the event are golfers who won a PGA Tour event in 2023, finished in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup Standings, or the top 10 in the FedEx Cup Fall Standings. Once again, this event will take place at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii, specifically on the Maui Island.
Before we give you our three best bets, remember who will not be there. Jon Rahm, the defending champion, and Masters winner, has decided to join the LIV Tour. He joins Australia’s own Cameron Smith, who won in Kapalua in 2022.
 Scottie Scheffler
The world number one and native of Ridgewood, New Jersey, won the Waste Management Phoenix Open and Players Championship in 2023. Last year, Scheffler finished seventh at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, with a four round score of -21. Most times a score of -21 over four rounds will win you the tournament. Not in this case as the Kapalua course in Maui is considered one of the easiest courses on the PGA Tour every year.
