One of the biggest offseason stories in the National Basketball Association is the fact that it is expected LeBron James will return to the NBA for another season, but he is not expected to return to Los Angeles and play for the Lakers. Here are four teams we could see LeBron James, the NBA’s all-time leading point producer, end up.
Miami Heat
Could we see James make a second appearance in his career in south Florida? He was already with the Heat for four seasons from 2010 to 2014. In that time, James won back-to-back NBA Finals in 2012 and 2013, the first two NBA Finals championships in his career. Now with the Heat already acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo, the question now is can they figure out something in their budget to bring aboard LeBron too?
Cleveland Cavaliers
On Thursday night, the Major League Baseball regular season resumed from their All-Star break with the Philadelphia Phillies hosting the New York Mets. During the ESPN broadcast, Phillies star Bryce Harper was mic’d up and asked where he thinks James will end up playing next. His answer could be a surprise to some, but his response was the Cleveland Cavaliers. “I think he’s going back home to end his career there.” This would be James’s third time with the Cavaliers as he was previously there from 2003 to 2010, and again from 2014 to 2018.
Philadelphia 76ers
The city of Brotherly Love is interested in not only acquiring James, but National Hockey League superstar Connor McDavid too. The 76ers have not won the NBA Finals since 1983, and now the rumours of James going to Philly are simply not stopping. These may be just rumours, but there is pressure on the 76ers to turn things around, and to give Philadelphia another star to accommodate Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors are trying to win one more championship with Steph Curry as their star point guard. It is not surprise that Curry would love to be throwing the basketball to LeBron this season. By signing with the Warriors, James does not have to switch states.
