Storm’s scintillating attack sees them surge past Roosters

The Melbourne Storm are headed back to the big dance having surged past the Roosters 48-18 behind a Jahrome Hughes hat-trick at AAMI Park on Friday night.

The rest of the opening forty belonged to Melbourne with Hughes snagging a double and Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jack Howarth also scoring to give them a 22-4 advantage.

The Roosters clawed their way back into it via tries to Terrell May and Nat Butcher in back-to-back sets to cut the deficit back to just four.

The night belonged to the Storm however with Hughes grabbing a third before Papenhuyzen notched a second and Cameron Munster bagged a late double to ice it.
