In the 25th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the New York Jets.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
There are eight new notable New York Jets. Four of the players came to the Jets via trade and four of the players via free agency.
The four new notable Jets via free agency were defensive end Joseph Ossai of Lagos, Nigeria, linebacker Demario Davis of Collins, Mississippi, defensive lineman David Onyemata of Lagos, and defensive end Kingsley Enagbare of Atlanta, Georgia. The four new notable Jets via trade were quarterback Geno Smith of Miramar, Florida, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick of Old Bridge, New Jersey, defensive nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat of Huntsville, Texas and center Jordan Meredith of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Ossai signed a three-year contract worth $36 million on March 12. He played the last four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2025, Ossai had 43 combined tackles (21 solo tackles and 22 assisted tackles), nine tackles for a loss, 12 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and five sacks.
Davis signed a two-year contract worth $22 million with the New York Jets on March 12. He originally played for the Jets from 2012 to 2015 and again in 2017. Davis was also with the Cleveland Browns in 2016, and the last eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints since 2018. In 2022 and 2023, Davis was selected to the Pro Bowl. In 2025 with the Saints, Davis had 143 combined tackles (64 solo tackles and 79 assisted tackles), six tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, three pass deflections, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and half a sack.
Onyemata signed a one-year deal worth $10.5 million on March 12. He is joining his third NFL team after seven seasons with the New Orleans Saints (2016 to 2022), and the last three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2023 to 2025). In 2025 with the Falcons, Onyemata had 62 combined tackles (29 solo tackles and 33 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, and one sack. The first quarterback hit and sack came in a 24-14 Falcons win over the Buffalo Bills on October 13. The second quarterback hit came in a 24-10 Falcons win over the New Orleans Saints on November 23.
Enagbare signed a one-year contract worth $10 million on March 12. He is joining his second NFL team after four seasons with the Green Bay Packers. In 2025, Enagbare had 39 combined tackles (16 solo tackles and 23 assisted tackles), six tackles for a loss, nine quarterback hits, and two sacks. The first half a sack came in a 27-23 Packers win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 19, the second half a sack came in a 31-24 Packers win over the Detroit Lions on November 27, and the second sack came in a 28-21 Packers win over the Chicago Bears on December 7.
Smith was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets with a seventh round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft for a sixth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on March 10. Smith is returning to the Jets after playing there from 2013 to 2016. He has also played with the New York Giants (2017), the Los Angeles Chargers (2018), the Seattle Seahawks (2020 to 2024), and the Las Vegas Raiders (2025). This past season in Vegas, Smith completed 302 passes in 448 attempt for 3025 passing yards, with 19 touchdowns and a NFL high 17 interceptions. He also had 41 rushes for 109 rushing yards. While with the Seahawks in 2022 and 2023, Smith was selected to the Pro Bowl.
Fitzpatrick was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the New York Jets for a seventh round pick in 2026 on March 9. Fitzpatrick has played three seasons with the Miami Dolphins (in 2018, 2019, and 2025), and six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2025, the five-time Pro Bowler had 82 combined tackles (59 solo tackles and 23 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, one interception for seven yards, six pass deflections, one forced fumble for two yards, two fumble recoveries and one sack.
The first fumble recovery came in a 27-21 Dolphins win over the New York Jets on September 29. The second fumble recovery came in a 30-13 Dolphins win over the Buffalo Bills on November 9. The first quarterback hit came in a 16-13 Dolphins overtime win over the Washington Commanders on November 16. The sack, second quarterback hit and forced fumble came in a 21-17 Dolphins win over the New Orleans Saints on November 30.
Sweat was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Jets on February 26 for defensive end Jermaine Johnson II. Sweat has been with the Titans the last two years. In 2025, he had 34 combined tackles (16 solo tackles and 18 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, two sacks and one pass deflection.
Meredith was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets with a seventh round pick in the 2029 NFL Draft for a conditional sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft on August 31. He has spent the last four seasons with the Raiders.

There are no Jets in the top 10 in any fantasy football position.
Projected Finish
There are low expectations for the Jets this season. The addition of Smith makes New York better than Miami in the AFC East, but this team will be a distant third in the division behind Buffalo and New England.
