Novak Djokovic wins 2023 Paris Masters

Novak Djokovic of Belgrade, Serbia has won his sixth tournament of 2023. On Sunday, he won the final of the 2023 Paris Masters. This was the final ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the 2023 tennis season.
On Sunday, Djokovic defeated Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, 6-4, 6-3 in the final. Djokovic had six aces compared to five for Dimitrov. Djokovic only had one double fault, while Dimitrov had two double faults. Where Djokovic showed excellence was his ability to prevent Dimitrov to have one break point opportunity in the entire match. Djokovic had four break point chances and capitalized on three of them.
Dimitrov may not have been seeded in Paris. However, he was the top ranked player in the tournament not seeded. Dimitrov was ranked 17th when the seeds came out for the Paris Masters 1000 draw, and is currently ranked 14th in the world. He is also a three-time grand slam semifinalist as he made the final four of the 2014 Wimbledon, 2017 Australian Open, and 2019 United States Open. Djokovic meanwhile has made 46 grand slam semifinals, and won 35 of them.
Djokovic beat two seeded players in the Paris tournament. He defeated the sixth seed Holger Rune of Denmark 7-5, 6-7, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, and the fifth seed Andrey Rublev of Russia, 5-7, 7-6, 7-5 in the semifinals. The five prior ATP titles Djokovic won in 2023 were the Australian Open, the French Open, the Cincinnati Masters, and the United States Open.
This was Djokovic’s seventh Paris Masters victory. He previously won in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2021. In fact, he has the most Paris Masters 1000 singles titles of all-time.
