Week two of the 2022 NFL regular season is just hours away. Here are some key injuries, player statistical projections and projected upsets for the first week of the season.
Key Injuries
There are several NFL injuries heading into week two. They include Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (thumb), Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring), New England Patriots wide receiver Ty Montgomery (knee), Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker (ankle), Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams (knee), and San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (sprained MCL). Prescott’s injury may not be as serious as what it initially seemed (initial projection was Prescott was to be out two months). Adams meanwhile is expected to be out for the season.

Among the players who are projected to have strong weeks are Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. Mahomes, who is to play Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, is expected to have 303 yards passing and three touchdown passes. Kupp is expected to have 101 yards receiving and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Taylor is expected to have 93 yards rushing and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Projected Upsets
The three teams I like for upsets this weekend are the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, and Minnesota Vikings. The Giants did beat the Titans in week one, but I am not a believer they can come up with two straight wins in a row. The Lions might have a solid offense, but struggled defensively in their week one loss to Philadelphia. Washington has a decent offense too, and Carson Wentz looked impressive in his Commanders debut. The Vikings looked great against the Packers, and will carry that momentum into Philly in prime time on Monday night. Join Our Competition Club Here
